U.S. FOREST SERVICE Contract No.: 54-3187-3-2 Equipment Descriptions |
EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION As outlined on the US Forest Service Website PART I – SECTION B – SUPPLIES OR SERVICES The Forest Service has developed an equipment designator to describe radio equipment on the Schedule of Items. The designator consists of six letters and three numbers; e.g., “PLSH-4.4-H-1.5-B”, “MEPM-4.4-H-50-B”, etc. The letters and numbers represent the characteristics required of the equipment being ordered. Characteristics are described in the identified sections of the Minimum Standard Specifications. First Letter – Identifies equipment type (Specification 3.0): B=Base M=Mobile P=Portable A=Aircraft Second Letter – Identifies type of controls (Specification 4.0): BASE REPEATER BKPF-(1.1-U-25-N) (2.1-H-50-N) – Where more than one transmitter and/or receiver is ordered in the same housing, the multiple transmitter and/or receiver sections of the designator will be separated by parenthesis. MOBILE M(X)PM-2.2-H-50-B – (X) is used for items not covered by the list of designators. A narrative description shall be provided. |
